Vision:
Provide the best possible advisory graphic art resource to deliver Web sites that communicate the vision and needs of our partners in ministry.
The Problem:
The current provision for partner Web sites by Ministry Systems is technology driven. The graphic presentation is more optimized to content than presentation. This means the sites are well structured to organize and prioritize the information. It’s presentation usually needs help.
The solution:
- Provide on the Ministry Systems Web site a series of links to sample Web sites for partners to reflect their own values.
- Write a vision statement for each Web site as means for receiving partner direction. It should answer clearly what their Web site is for in the context of their own organization’s specific needs and culture. It should provide input for both detailed design and input to the Art Department.
- Create a virtual Art Department to advise and oversee the design of Web sites from a graphic art perspective.
Job Description for a Virtual Art Department team member:
- Participate by phone & email.
- Suggest additions/deletions to the list of sample web sites on the Ministry Systems Web site.
- Respond to Web site vision statements.
- Requests for comment may average one per month.
- Participate in the Art Dept. list server as a means of sharing comments.
- Be our guests at a kick-off dinner in a month or so.
Art Department List Server:
This will provide a means for the members of the Art Department to communicate. The Art Department list would be restricted to members of the Art Department. Each member will be able to freely post to the list without a moderator.
